Two Pictures That Could Never Happen Again

Waking up early is something most of us either have to do or hate to do. I am going to share with you how waking up at 3:30am has gotten me two pictures that could never happen again. This story is more about the story that lead up to these photographs being taken and it all comes down to opportunities and making them happen. You will be presented with many opportunities in your life and there will be a good chance that you will pass up on most of them simply because you have no emotion ties or connection with the opportunity that presents itself at that time. Either you are too lazy or see no value in making it worth your time to take on the opportunity. The key is to feel it in your heart and mind that something special will happen from what lies before you. I am going to share 2 stories that lead up to two photographs that brought me such joy, yet will most likely never happen again.

Being in the media and beauty industry has it’s perks. Knowing the right people can help make your dreams come true as long as you work hard for it and you take advantage of the opportunities you are offered. A good friend of mine named Patrick is the lead hairstylist on Good Morning America. He was kind enough to invite me down to be on set with him as he knew it was a dream of mine to be on the set during filming and how much I loved TV. This may sound like an easy walk in the park, however I didn’t mention that I had to get up at 3:30am to take the train at 4:30am to get into NYC. If you work in the city, you are used to getting up early, however it was rare that I had to commute or get into the city so early so I needed to make a choice. I could have easily cancelled and went back into bed, however I felt a strong feeling inside my heart and mind that I needed to go because something special might happen. I jumped on the train and made it into NYC at around 5:45am. It was still dark out and yet I was wide awake full of energy to make a dream come true. I arrived on set and my eyes lit up with joy. Seeing all the cameras, lights, crew and the cast of GMA. HOLY COW there was George, Sam, Josh and Lara. I couldn’t believe it! Patrick came down to meet me and I got to witness him work on the cast and prep them for live TV. They treated me like I was part of the crew and were super nice to me. I had no idea what was really going to happen but I felt something great was about to happen. I asked Patrick if he could introduce me to the cast and before you know it, they called me up where they film and took a picture that will never be forgotten and will most likely never happen again. Simply for the fact that Sam Champion is no longer with GMA. This was a dream come true and thanks to Patrick, GMA followed me on twitter as well! I went home feeling so full of life and joy and will always cherish the experience.

The second picture is a similar story, however I totally did not expect this to happen. A similar opportunity presented itself and 3:30am was the wake up time. I needed to get into NYC by 6:30 am. Miley Cyrus was performing live on the Today Show and I decided to go. I am a fan of hers, however I wanted to learn from seeing her perform and how she really handled herself. This was 2 days after her hosting on SNL so she was all over the news. When I got to the studio, there were literally hundreds of fans sleeping on the sidewalk, waiting in line for a few blocks and I didn’t even think there would be so many people. Yes I admit to being probably one of the oldest people there, but I was there on a mission as I felt something good was going to happen. So after the line started moving, I finally made my way to the crowd area and got to hear her rehearsal a bit. She sounds amazing live! Such a great voice. Fast forward and the Today Show was now live on TV and everyone was awaiting Miley’s performance. Soon the screams started as Savannah and Matt walked outside and Miley was introduced. There were so many people and I was pretty far back from the stage. Before you know it, one of the staff opened up the gate for me to move towards the stage and BAM I was jut in front of the stage. It was hard to see past the tons of cell phones being held up, but I got to see her and it was just awesome to be moved closer. Here is where things get interesting. I am all about my brand and getting as much exposure that I can so I decided to send the Today Show and Miley a tweet. Within 10 minutes I got a few texts saying that my name was on the screen when Miley was performing.I had NO idea what they were talking about so someone told me that they saw a tweet I made show up on live TV. I thought WOW that’s awesome, but I really didn’t have much of a connection to it cause I didn’t see it. Later that day I went home and watched the videos of her live performance. Not only could you see me from time to time in the crowd, but there it was, my tweet and my brand name right on the screen for a good 10 seconds while Miley was finishing her song. I took a screen shot of it. That picture will never happen again. I took the chance, felt something special was going to happen and it did.
