10 Mar IBS NY Coverage with TheSalonGuy
The International Beauty Show has been a huge part of my professional career and I have attended since they had competitions which I entered. That dates back many many years. Each year thousands of Stylists attend the show to learn, get motivated, network and most of all SHOP. This years show, 2011, was absolutely the most crowded and hectic I have ever seen in it in my career. Aisles were packed, Stylist everywhere, new companies and vendors all over, new floor layout. It was almost like a completely different show. I got the chance to conduct some great interviews with people and walked the floor a few times. What was interesting was how many of the major companies that were there year after year are not participating anymore and there were a TON of new international companies. With the Brazilian treatments becoming the biggest hype, Hispanic hair color companies and artists, Asian shear and tool companies, they basically dominated the show.
Overall it was interesting to see that there are many more players in the game and it shows that we will always stay on top of the trends and technology in our Industry.
Please enjoy my interview series at the IBS NY 2011 at the Javits Center. This year seemed a bit different than most years. It was crowded, new vendors, new products, new people and a whole new layout. I talked to some people at the show and let’s hear what they had to say.
