Fashioned for Hope Brings a Night of Fashion Relief for Gilda’s Club New York City
On Wednesday June 29th, modaCYCLE and Lion’esque Media co-sponsored a charity fashion auction to benefit Gilda’s Club New York City, hosted by Alex McCord at The Carlton Hotel.
The RSVP’s were filled with fashionistas, press and supporters for Gilda’s Club NYC and Millesime provided the perfect backdrop of elegance for impromptu photo shoots showcasing the luxurious designs being auctioned off. Alex McCord hosted the night with fashion perfection in support of the cause.
The list of designers that joined forces with modaCYCLE and Lion’esque Media for the silent auction were from top notch players in emerging design including: Nanette Lepore, Charles Nolan, Tracy Reese, Chado Ralph Rucci, Araks, Malan Breton, Loris Diran, Nima Taherzadeh, Kaelen, and Tara St. James. 100% of all proceeds went to Gilda’s Club.
“I discovered a new designer that works with only the most luxurious of fabrics and I am in love. …and it was all for a good cause. I can’t wait to pick up my Louis Diran blouse tomorrow.” says Auction winner, Kelly Brochu.
APM Model Management sponsored a gorgeous group of models, styled by Steve Ocean Productions and StylEast to walk the runway and help drive highest bids to support the cause. “We sent out one press release and the support quickly came in” says CEO of Lion’esque Media Melissa Gonzalez. Among the evening’s sponsors were InStep Consulting, LRL Group and Completely Bare.
Since opening in 1995, Gilda’s Club New York City has offered a place where men, women and children living with cancer – and their families and friends – can join together to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care. “There are hundreds of beautiful charities in New York City that do great work. But as Mother Theresa said when she was asked how she decides who to help, “Do what’s in front of you.” Gildas Club has been “in front of me” for years. Their work in supporting those living with cancer and their families and love ones deeply touched me from the moment I heard of their work,”Seth Friedermann Managing Editor ModaCYCLE.
