Millennium Software, known for its commitment to beauty industry education, reached out to cosmetology schools in the Miami, Florida area with a huge opportunity. Makers of the software held a contest to find 10 teams of outstanding cosmetology students that will host a hair show during The Millennium Experience, the company’s largest educational conference. This years Millennium Experience will celebrate the company’s 25-year anniversary and pay tribute to 1987, the year the company was founded. “This conference will reflect on our 25 year history in the industry and the drive it took to get here. I believe it’s important to remember the beginning, says Jennifer Martinelli, Millennium’s Marketing & Advertising Manager. “These young professionals radiate so much passion, fight and drive that it brings us all back to that fresh start. Reminding us yet again why we love what we do. It’s truly an honor to be showcasing students.”
The students that were selected will host the hair show under the creative direction of Robert Cromeans, Global Creative Director of Paul Mitchell and Jason De La Torre, Platform artist of Flaunt Sessions.

· Be mentored by Robert Cromeans and Jason De La Torre.

Baby stare down

These two adorable babies have a stare down. They make eye contact and one baby looks away then picks his head back up and they connect. Sometimes you don’t need to speak to communicate. Eye contact can just be enough. Communicate with your eyes. If a baby can do it, so can you.

Hair Icon and legend Vidal Sassoon Dies Today, May 9th 2012

Sad news for the world and the Salon Industry.

In June 2011 it was reported that Sassoon had been diagnosed with leukaemia two years earlier, and was receiving treatment in Beverly Hills and London.
Sassoon died on 9 May 2012 at his home in Los Angeles. At the time of his death, the cause was yet unspecified. Stay tuned for more information. My prayers and heart goes out to his family and may he rest in peace. Vidal was an inspiration, icon and master of his craft and has touched millions of lives, including mine.
I will always remember his good looks, charm and amazing ability to deliver information to people.
He will always have a place in my heart.
The last recorded interview on video was with Vidal and his son Elan at his house in California. They spoke about the hairdresser being the artist and for the passion they had for the industry. Vidal spoke about the 4th Dimension, produced and hosted by Emiliani Enterprises and Andre Chiavelli. It took a lot out of Vidal to do this video but he did it for us, the Stylists.

The Beauty Industry is making moves in New Jersey!

Music, Fashion, Hair, Networking and Culture. These are all things that Hairstylist and GK Hair Educator for DePasquale Salon Systems Peter Orcinoli is passionate about. Peter just threw his second event held at Bliss Lounge in Clifton, NJ which catered to people in the Salon, Music and Fashion Industries. These events are being held on a monthly basis and different Salons, Make Up Artists, Fashion Designers and Music Performers will be participating to showcase their work. This event featured work from Jason De La Torre, Stylist and founder of Flaunt Sessions, and Tantrum Salon along with Make up by Spa Wars Author Lora Condon, Wenya Chang and Diana Margulies and several Flaunt Sessions Stylists including Ianthe Foushee and Melissa Castellanos. The Stylists showcased Avant-Garde, Couture and Red Carpet Hollywood Glam looks. Great music, live performances and a great networking event for the Salon Industry.
These events are making an impact in New Jersey and Peter, soon to be Salon Owner with Anthony Lombardi of Jerseylicious and current Owner of Anthony Robert Salon in Verona, NJ, is bringing a great monthly event with great support from the Industry.
