How to Do a Lineup or Edge-Up: Clean Edges Every Time

The lineup — also called an edge-up or shape-up — is the finishing detail that elevates a good cut to a great one. In this video, I show you the tools I use, how I establish the front hairline, and the technique I follow to keep the corners sharp and the line perfectly straight.
Use a T-blade trimmer for precision and always outline first before removing hair. Follow the natural hairline rather than cutting against it. For the temples and sideburns, work slowly and check your symmetry constantly. A little pomade along the edge helps the blade glide cleanly.
