Layering a men's cut is one of those techniques that separates an okay haircut from a great one. In this demo, I work on a full head of thick hair and show you exactly where to place layers, how deep to go, and how the finished cut moves differently than a blunt cut would.
Use point cutting and slide cutting to build movement into the top section. The goal is to remove weight without sacrificing length. I always start in the interior and work my way out, checking the silhouette from multiple angles throughout the cut.
